Rev. Dr. Tremayne M. Johnson is a native of North Carolina. He is a 1999 graduate of Fayetteville State University, a 2008 graduate of the prestigious Duke University, and a 2015 Graduate of the United Theological Seminary, in Dayton, OH, where he earned the Doctorate of Ministry Degree, under the mentorship of Dr. William H. Curtis and Dr. Gina M. Stewart. Johnson is the recipient of several honorary degrees which include; the Doctorate of Theology Degree from the North Carolina School of Theology, and The Doctorate of Divinity from the Canaan Theological Seminary. Johnson was honored and awarded as the 2008 Duke University’s Jameson Jones Preaching Award by the Faculty of the Duke Divinity School, Durham, NC.

Dr. Johnson currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Zion Baptist Church, Newport News, Virginia, where the church has made a commitment to, “Make Every Effort to be the Church Where God Dwells Among His People.”

Pastor Johnson has served as a Pastor since the young age of 19, and have been Pastoring for over 25 years. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Hampton Roads Community Action Program, a member of the Southeast Coalition, an active brother of the distinguished Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, an active member of the Metro Minister’s Conference, and he serves as the President of the Coalition Of Concerned Clergy Inc, a constituent of Senior Pastors on the Peninsula of Hampton Roads that stretch across denominational lines. Pastor Johnson is the Proud Father of two daughters, Taylor Madison-Karrington and TaKayla McKinzie-A’Maryann.
